You know you're in for something special the moment you arrive here. Take the lobby. All glass and marble, it's every inch cutting-edge cool. Make your way across to the reception desk and you'll be met with a courteous smile. As the friendly staff check you in, you can't help but be amazed by the indoor palm trees that stretch up towards the ceiling and the chic glass-fronted elevators that glide effortlessly between floors. But that's just for starters...
Take a peek outside and you'll come face to face with the hotel's star attraction - the enormous swimming pool complex. Criss-crossed with little wooden bridges and surrounded by an oasis of palms, you can just imagine yourself there, lazing on a sunbed, sipping a drink. But now take a closer look. No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. There really is a beach extending into one of the swimming pools. You see, Maspalomas' famous sand dunes are about 1.5 kilometres away and so rather than having to make the daily trek to the beach, the beach comes to you. A 100 metre-long beach to be precise. Granted, it's man-made, but it's a real showstopper.
If you fancy a bite to eat in between sunning yourself, head for the Caribbean-style thatched roof pool bar or enjoy a slap-up lunch at the a la carte restaurant. Talking of food, dinner time at this hotel is a real experience. The buffets offer up all sorts of tempting dishes but most guests like to make a beeline for the show cooking stand where chefs sizzle up steaks to perfection, right before your eyes.
After dinner, round off your day with a quiet drink in the lounge or settle down for some toe-tapping live music before deciding what to do tomorrow. Maybe a game of tennis? Or perhaps a session in the sauna? It's like we said, this place really is special.
