The moment you arrive at the Amara Beach, you know you're in for something special. All sweeping columns and marble floors, the gold-domed lobby certainly looks the part. Add special touches like champagne and Turkish Delight on arrival and the tone is set for an indulgent break. The catalogue of daytime activities certainly lives up to the hotel's five star status. Take your pick from a list that includes archery, tennis and volleyball. And there's more down by the sea. As the name suggests, this hotel is pulled right up against the beach – Manavgat's Colaki Beach to be precise. Simply stroll down through the hotel lawns and you'll come to the coarse, yellow sands. Here you'll find plenty in the way of watersports, including windsurfing, sailing and jet-skis. Back inside the hotel it's a similar story. The gym is kitted out with all the latest equipment and the spa plays host to a sauna, whirlpool and steam bath. The sci-fi-looking games room, meanwhile, has billiards tables and air hockey, not to mention a bowling alley. The hotel even has its very own onsite cinema and the comes with waterpark-style slides. There's lots of choice on the food front, too. The main restaurant serves up big buffets while the 24-hour bistro is the place for a late-night snack. What's more, there are three a la carte eateries to choose from and, as part of the All Inclusive package, you can eat in all three once during your stay. As for the bedrooms, they're decorated in soft, muted tones and accessorised with bright orange, boudoir-style chaises longues. Add satellite TVs, minibars and air-conditioning and you've got rooms that are both comfortable and well-equipped. In terms of location, the town of Side isn't too far away – about twenty to thirty minutes or so by dolmus or taxi – and there are a handful of bars, shops and restaurants more or less on the doorstep.
